Jazz It Up for 2013
The Georgia Strawberry Festival Committee is proud to announce plans for a great time this year to celebrate their 15th year. The theme will be “Jazz It Up”. You will see that theme in the parade, the cookoff, and other activities throughout the Festival. There are even plans to have real Cajun cooking from Louisiana with a food booth. Exciting ideas will be announced as plans are finalized.
Arts and Crafts and Food Vendors turning in an application before March 15th will receive a $15.00 discount on application fees. You may obtain applications online and check on the amount for booth space.
The group for the Friday Evening Gospel Fest has been confirmed with the South Georgia Quartet being present to provide some great Southern Gospel Music. The Panhandle Fire Department will be cooking up their good barbeque and the 4-H will be serving their melt in your mouth Strawberry Shortcake. There will be inflatables for the children to enjoy while the “more than children” enjoy some good ole Southern Gospel music and enjoy visiting with friends and family.
Saturday’s events will get an early morning “kick off” when a new event, the Berry Blast Girls Softball Tournament, gets underway at the city ballfield on South Liberty Street. There will be a $5.00 per vehicle admission charge for this event which is being sponsored by 14U Fusion Gold and 14U Fusion Blue Girls Softball teams. Also starting at 8:00 a.m. will be the annual Run for Literacy 5K event. Parking and line up for this event will be at Liberty Park located on South Collins Street.
There will be arts and crafts in downtown Reynolds all day on Saturday, live entertainment on the main street stage, photography contest, cook off with taste tickets being available at the information booth, a classic car show, and much more going on. Don’t forget to mark your calendars to be in town on Friday evening, April 26th and all day on Saturday April 27th and attend the Georgia Strawberry Festival in beautiful downtown Reynolds, GA.
